German Psychiatry and the Nazis

This article appeared in the British Journal of Psychiatry in 1991 (BJP 1991, 159:7-12). It is based on a lecture given by Professor Meyer-Lindenberg, a past President of the German College of Psychiatry and was published after his death. It addresses the role played by Psychiatrists in Nazi Germany.
